I’m joining in with the Plank Challenge

I’m excited to take part in a new challenge by fitblog: The plank!

This is an awesome challenge, basically over the next six weeks (16 May – 26 June) people will be attempting to extend their time in the plank position. If you don’t know what a plank is take a look at the picture below:

I’ve never been able to stay in the plank for more than a few seconds, you could say that I am a plank “virgin!” So this should be an interesting challenge and I should really be able to see the results over the 6 weeks.

My goal: To be able to stay in the plank position for at least a whole minute, if not two.

My plan: As I am new at this I am going to attempt the plank 4/5 times a week and extend each plank by 2/3 seconds

I will be updating on this challenge throughout the six weeks – wish me luck!

The challenge is open to everyone, if you want to take part:

  • Announce that you are IN for the challenge – write a blog post and share it, announce it on twitter or Facebook
  • Make your plan – test your starting point, then develop a goal that you want to get to in six weeks, then fill in what you’ll need to do each week to get there
  • Each week, look for progress updates and blog topic starters on the Life After Bagels blog and in the #Fitblog newsletter
